IPHONE 7 AND GALAXY NOTE 6 TO HAVE DUAL-LENS CAMERA

The rivalry between Apple and Samsung is nothing new, except that something new always comes up that fuels the fire. The latest is about the dual lens camera that is rumored to be a feature in iPhone 7. Recent reports out of Korea indicates that Samsung will also use the same camera feature with its upcoming phablet.
But 2016 happens to be the year of a dual camera, so it’s not a surprise that both the iPhone 7 and the Samsung Galaxy Note 6 will join the dual-camera bandwagon. Besides, the camera technology has proven to produce better photos taken from a smartphone. Many mobile phones already excel in this feature, but they can certainly do better.
In a report in Engadget, compact camera design house Corephotonics demonstrated the difference that a dual-lens camera can make when integrated with a smartphone. The long and short of it is that you get the same high quality photos whether you zoomed in on a subject or not. This is made possible with the use of two lenses with different focal lengths – wide angle and 3x zoom. With this technology, you can easily switch lenses without the need for a digital zoom.
Given such features, Apple and Samsung won’t be wrong by using a dual-lens camera. But all these are just rumors based on unconfirmed reports.
  • iPhone 7 cases produced by third-party manufacturers have a wider camera space, most likely to pave way for the dual-lens camera
  • Zol, a Chinese news source, claims that SEMCO, Samsung’s Electro-Mechanics arm, is working on a technology based on Samsung’s own sensor design.
Will both companies make a big deal out of this? It won’t be the first or the last. Because, as early as now, there are already rumors that the iPhone 8 will have a curved screen design that is similar to that of theSamsung Galaxy S6 Edge and the S7 Edge.
Between the iPhone 7 and Galaxy Note 6
The iPhone 7 is rumored to have a storage space starting at 32GB up to 256GB. With apps getting bigger in size, and photos of a dual-lens camera requiring more space, 256GB as a top-tier option definitely makes a lot of sense.
Samsung Galaxy Note 6 will have a 6GB RAM, and a brand new Qualcomm Snapdragon 823 processor. It will have two internal storage options – 64GB and 128GB UFS 2.0.
But a stark difference between the two is that the Galaxy Note 6 is said to be dust and waterproof, and the name is likely to be switched to Samsung Galaxy Note 7, according to rumors. source
